Ride Engineer
Location: Chessington World of Adventures Resort, Surrey, KT9 2NE
Hours: Full time, permanent, working a 2-shift rotation of 6.00am – 2.30pm and 2.00pm to 10.30pm, with 1 in 3 weekends off.
Salary: Starting salary of £43,260.80, increasing to £46,784.10 after training

Our Technical Services team is made up of skilled Engineers, Facilities Technicians, Creatives and Landscapers who work together to create a magical experience for our guests. With significant investment over the next 3 years, beginning with the opening of the World of Jumanji, we're looking to expand our team of Engineers, working on maintaining and improving rides at Britain’s wildest adventure!

About the Role
In this role you'll use your passion for getting the job done in the most efficient and effective way possible. As part of a skilled team, you will be responsible for maintaining up to 30 rides, from our rollercoasters to the family friendly attractions that we have across the park. Ride availability will be your number one priority!
Our team combines mechanical and electrical engineers, and you could find yourself getting involved in anything from preventative and corrective maintenance, conducting opening and closing checks, to being part of our annual winter maintenance program. You will be a specialist in your field, providing expertise to develop and improve our ride availability.
What we’re looking for
- A “can do” attitude and endless energy and enthusiasm for the role.
- An ONC, NVQ level 3 or BTEC equivalent gained through an Apprenticeship or college route in engineering.
- Post apprenticeship experience, including inspection experience.
- Full understanding of engineering-related statutory requirements such as COSHH.
- Experience of planned preventative maintenance systems of work.
- The ability to read and use engineering drawings.
- The ability to display problem solving and diagnostic skills.
- Previous work in a theme park environment is not essential, engineering experience gathered on other electrical systems may be equally suitable.

- Have experience of using technical manuals, risk assessments and related documentation.
