Job Summary: SUNY Brockport is currently accepting applications for a Revenue Accountant in the Student Accounts & Accounting area. This position is responsible for managing facets of the University's accounts receivable analysis, as well as reconciliation and reporting requirements. The position is also responsible for assisting with the maintenance and/or reconciliation of University accounts receivable records, including general ledger, and SUNY Uniform Revenue Accounting system. The position will provide revenue collections analysis, audit assistance, preparation of all necessary reconciliation functions including bank account(s), fund balances, and general ledger and trial balances. The person in this role will also participate in the staffing of the department's email account and the departmental phone system, and is required to provide consistently courteous, professional and accurate assistance to all internal and external customers, while maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive customer fiscal and personal data.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree by time of appointment from a college or university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education or an internationally recognized college or university.
- Minimum of 2 to 3 year's professional work experience in a bookkeeping or accounting environment.
- Demonstrated high level experience with software/database and computerized financial systems.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience using Excel at an advanced level.
- Demonstrated high-level organizational and time management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a cohesive team.
- Ability to work effectively with students, public, college community and external constituencies, with an appreciation for cultural and group differences.
Preferred Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance.
- Demonstrated high level professional experience with student enterprise software/database and computerized financial systems; Ellucian/Banner.
- Professional experience with NY State and/or SUNY financial/accounting system (URAS).
- Professional experience in higher educational setting; college or university Student Account operation.
Work Schedule: 7:45a m - 4:15 pm
Salary and Benefits: $50,148 - $55,125
