With our large variety of retail outlets every day is different, you could be based in our African Traders, with views overlooking the giraffe and zebra, in The Sweet Shop, taking our guests back to Victorian times measuring out old school and retro sweets, or even Natures Kingdom, where you are surrounded by loveable cuddly versions of our bigger critters.
Our Retail Team use their excellent customer service skills and friendly nature to actively seek opportunities to engage with our guests and help with any enquiries they may have, from welcoming them to the store, to helping them pick their souvenir, to serving them on the till, all whilst providing a fantastic guest service throughout.
What will this role entail?
Reporting to our Assistant Retail Managers, you’ll be responsible for maintaining a great knowledge of the variety of products we sell across our various retail outlets so that you can help guests pick out the right souvenir, and you’ll also help replenish stock levels and keep the outlets in a presentable condition.
Key duties will include:
- To be responsible for the security and accounting of all moneys handled in the course of employment. All staff will be cashier trained.
- To enhance revenue through up-selling and cross-selling, assisting customers with product selection.
- To be responsible for the cleanliness and neatness of your work area, stocking and replenishing when necessary.
- To record customer services issues in a timely and accurate way.
- Pro-actively handling visitor queries and complaints.
- To assist in the maintenance of a comfortable and courteous ambience for the visitors.
What will I need to be considered for this vacancy?
- Demonstrable customer service experience is desirable although not essential.
- A passion for delivering a great guest experience and willing to go out of your way to do so
- Good team player with excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and efficient under pressure
- Excellent communication skills with a confident and friendly nature
- Be honest, reliable and committed, and enjoy responsibility and exceeding expectations
- Flexible to work extra hours / weekends as required

You’ll be employed on a fixed term contract ending 7th January 2024, shorter contracts are also available. Working hours to vary over a 7-day rota basis, including weekends, evening and bank holidays as required. Earliest start time from 8am, and latest finish time up to 8pm, varying in accordance with opening times.
