Retail Stores Assistant

Retail Stores Assistant Ipswich, England

Vernon Fox Trading Ltd
Full Time Ipswich, England 10.5 GBP HOURLY Today
Job description

Vernon Fox Trading is a discount retailer, but not your usual discount retailer! Unlike bulk sellers stocking the same low cost ranges, our stock is sourced from a variety of sources including lost parcels, customer returns, catalogue clearances, seized goods and many more. The difference in our stock is clear from the moment you see it - brand names at discount prices!

The role

Our Stores Assistant's primary role will be ensuring our retail shop is always fully stocked with the latest products we have to offer. The role will involve scanning and pricing goods and preparing them for the retail floor, storing and locating the goods so as they can be found by all members of the team, stocking the retail space and if required assisting on the retail floor giving our customers the service they would expect.

As a Stores Assistant at Vernon Fox you will:

  • Assist with the unloading of vehicles and the checking in of stock;
  • Sort and place materials or items on to racks and shelves;
  • Scan and price goods based on our price matrix;
  • Complete general inventory controls and basic stock management;
  • Replenish stock as directed in store rooms and retail areas;
  • Work as part of the store team to create and maintain a fun and friendly environment;
  • Ensure excellent customer service is provided in every interaction with a customer, ensuring you are friendly, welcoming and helpful.

Previous retail or backroom store experience is preferred but not essential. Availability to be flexible on hours is essential.

What we looking for

To be successful in this role you will love working in a fast paced retail environment and must be willing to give the very best customer service experience to our customers.

The emphasis will be on service and a flexible approach to the job. You will have good organisational skills and are happy to work with IT systems to help you efficiently in your role. You should be able to demonstrate good organisational skills.

The day will be varied - from checking in deliveries and organising the storeroom, sorting and pricing stock, to delivering service with a smile at the till to engaging with customers to help them find their ideal product, and keeping the Vernon Fox Trading store looking spot on!
