The Financial Control & Reporting team within GFS has responsibility for ensuring the accuracy and substantiation of the financial reporting within LBG, and this role will specifically focus on Retail division.
It is an exciting time to join GFS as we move through our finance transformation journey and there will be opportunities for you to get involved. You will also be expected to play an active role within the Extended Leadership team within GFS.
Job Description
What you'll be doing
Working closely with and deputising for the Head of Retail Financial Control & Reporting, you'll work across the range of Retail products and services to develop a consistent control framework, particularly in respect of legal entity control and statutory reporting. You'll lead and develop a small team; influence key senior stakeholders and contribute to broader strategic direction and business decision making by providing insight, control and thought leadership.
Accountabilities will include:
- Developing and embedding governance framework in relation to Legal Entity Financial Control and Statutory Reporting;
- Establishing effective relationships with stakeholders including presenting at senior level meetings, including leading engagement with Retail Finance leadership team
- Ensure completion of a number of subsidiary statutory accounts, liaising extensively with the Group’s external auditors
- Interpreting and implementing financial accounting matters and Retail transaction impacts
- Providing SME knowledge and collaborating with the Value Streams/Platforms to support requirements & delivery of change programmes
- Leading on issue management, communicating and facilitating resolution
- Leading a development focused team and demonstrating continuous learning and self-development.
- Actively contribute to GFS culture by driving activity on one of our people pillars
What you can bring to the role
Essential:
A qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with:
- Passion for Financial control and reporting and questioning mindset;
- Experience of leading a team
- Strong background of delivery and driving continuous improvement against a constantly evolving landscape
- Bring a problem-solving approach with the ability to challenge and constructively debate key issues
- Works collaboratively with a diverse group of stakeholders, utilising well-developed relationship skills
- Ability to assess the impact of change on products, systems, processes and people.
