Position
POSITION: RETAIL DESIGN & FRAGRANCE VM INTERN
DEPARTMENT: MERCHANDISING
LOCATION: LONDON, UK
REPORTS TO: RETAIL DESIGNER & VISUAL MERCHANDISING MANAGER
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
- Guarantee accurate, qualitative brand image through all new store openings in UK and Ireland according to company and corporate guidelines.
- Contribute to the development of the Dior image in the UK and Ireland through the design, build and installation of new counters & fragrance backwalls.
- Ongoing innovation of existing counters to incorporate newly developed furniture.
- Ensure the integrity of all the institutional brand requirements across the Fragrance, Make Up and Skincare.
- Support and assist the Merchandising Team to ensure the Dior brand values/messages are maintained and are consistent in store.
RETAIL DESIGN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Take responsibility from conception to implementation of counter builds, refurbishments, and design initiatives!
- Produce creative POS designs in accordance with the merchandising guidelines to optimize brand visibility.
- Challenge and negotiate conditions to ensure brand image is not compromised.
- Be responsible for the designs and prototypes of any counter build.
- Provide project plans, designs and technical specifications to the international purchaser to obtain costings.
- Work with local suppliers ahead of installations to ensure accurate application of designs, technical specifications, and highest possible quality production. Once installations are complete, review the quality and processes giving feedback to suppliers as necessary.
- Create opening reports and manage the recording of all counter builds.
- Manage project budgets, tracking and raising PO’s – Ensuring all suppliers are paid and we maintain within the project budget.
- Management and awareness of our warehouse storage, making sure to reuse fixtures where possible.
FRAGRANCE VM RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage along with VM Manager with permanent project rollouts, for example Backwalls, Gondola Ends, Permanent Tods.
- Create briefs and brief into suppliers directly, ensuring projects are on time and in budget.
- Raise POs for all Fragrance projects, check actuals monthly in budget.
- Organise tester orders for sites/windows etc.
- Help with site installs in London and UK especially around Christmas.
- Support the VM manager to rollout out the new permanent TPS &TFS Backwall concept.

Technical Skills
- Design background
- Software packages: Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), 3D CAD (Vector works, Google Sketch-Up)
- Knowledge of furniture and materials for counter builds
Profile
- Architectural or Designer background with retail application preferable
- Good relationship builder
- Knowledge of the cosmetic market an asset but not essential (competitors, agents, retailers…)
