About Us
The Devonshire Group comprises charities and businesses throughout the UK and Ireland, including Chatsworth, which sits within the Derbyshire Estate, the Bolton Abbey Estate in North Yorkshire, the Lismore Estate in County Waterford, and the Compton Estate in Sussex.
The businesses include heritage attractions, shops, restaurants and luxury accommodation at Chatsworth, Bolton Abbey and in Lismore Castle in Ireland. The estates include tenanted businesses and residential property, a property development business with a pipeline of 2000 homes, sustainable forestry and farming businesses and an estate farm shop at Chatsworth
About the role
Due to the recent growth and ongoing expansion of our buying function, an opportunity has become available for a passionate and ambitious Heritage Retail Buyer to join the team in our Chatsworth Retail department.
This is a very exciting time to be joining the Chatsworth buying team, with plans already underway for further expansion in both our physical and digital platforms.
Through our values of ‘always improving, decency and being inclusive’ you will work alongside two other buyers, and will be responsible for sourcing and selecting products across a number of dedicated categories for the gift shops at Chatsworth.
This is a permanent role and hours of work will be 40 hours per week, usually working between the hours of 9.00 am and 5.30 pm, Monday to Friday. Flexibility is essential to meet the requirements of the role, as you will be required to work occasional weekends and evenings in order to attend key events and trade shows. We operate a hybrid working policy and some working from home will be available.

About you
Ideally, you will have experience of product procurement across a variety of categories, from a selection of clothing and accessories, jewellery, homewares, books, stationery, souvenirs, toys and games, plants and garden, or Christmas decorations.
You’ll possess excellent organisational and communication skills. You’ll be committed to both personal and category growth and be able to develop and build relationships with all levels across the Devonshire Group.
