Geek Retreat is on a mission to share our love for all things geeky - from games and superhero movies to anime and sci-fi. Our growing network of gaming cafes and stores around the UK are the friendliest places to meet, eat, trade and game.
We're looking for an experienced, reliable, resilient and self motivated Retail assistant supervisor who can manage the smooth daily running of our Stevenage Store and Cafe in order to ensure sales, performance and customer service levels are achieved.
This role would suit an individual with excellent communication skills and confidence dealing with the public.
Experience with the neurodiverse community would be a plus.
Experience within hospitality & retail management is essential and a general understanding of social media is preferable. An interest in geek culture ( TCGs, games & films ect) is also a must for everybody in our company.
This isn't a back-office position as it's very much a 'hands-on' role and you'll be managing the open and closing of the store, cooking, building & serving communities, stock ordering, cleaning kitchen and toilets and shop floor. and helping run events & championships across the year. Your role will be varied and challenging and fun - which is why this role requires a flexible approach!
This role is starting at 20 hours working 3 out of 7 days between the hours of 10am-10pm. Weekend availability essential.
Job Role:
- Daily management of store opening and/or closing process
- Driving customer service standards and dealing with issues or requests in store and online messaging.
- Increase sales in store and drive store profitability ensuring all targets are met
- Keeping up with current trends in the industry including competitor analysis
- Ensure the highest possible standard of visual merchandising, display and store standards
- To take accountability for Health & Safety and Environmental Health policies.
- Building, and engaging with, communities – both internal and external
- Creating and implementing Events for a large variety of customers
- Cleaning the store to a high standard and encouraging our customers to keep these standards up.
- recording and maintaining our daily checks & end of day forms to ensure customer and staff safety, hygiene and wellbeing in our store.
