Age UK Bradford District’s mission is to enable, empower and support people to live well as active, engaged and influential members of their communities. We work to ensure that everyone’s contribution is valued and that individuals and their communities provide mutual support which promotes independence, inclusion, choice and control.

Our Community Hubs are warm welcoming spaces where people can get the information, help, support or advice they need for their situation; come in to volunteer their time or pick up a bargain in the retail section. Each of our six Community Hubs is working towards delivering a range of functions including Information, Help and Support, Advice and Casework, Community Activities and Events alongside Fundraising.

We are currently recruiting a Retail Assistant to work as part of the Hub team – providing an excellent service to customers, sorting and managing donations, supporting volunteers and being responsible for hub activities. There will also be Hub opening and closing responsibilities, together with operating the till and banking.

The role is based at Queensbury, but may occasionally require cover for our other Community Hubs across the district.

Retail experience is preferred, along with a positive attitude and excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.

Please note that this role is subject to a DBS check as we may work with volunteers under the age of 18.

Salary £6,916 per annum (£18,278 FTE)

14 hours per week

5 weeks holiday plus bank holidays pro rata
