Summary of position

This role is predominantly focused on providing the servers with the tools required to deliver an “above and beyond” experience at Etci Mehmet. The Restaurant Assistant role is centered around serving drinks and providing refills as needed. Deliver food and remove used tableware between courses; clear and reset tables after guests leave.
Duties and responsibilities

- Obtain service area assignment at the beginning of each shift.
- Promptly greet guests as they are seated.
- Remove used tableware between courses and provide tableware for next course.
- Clear tables after guests.
- Take tableware to KP area and place silverware, dishes, glassware, etc. in appropriate areas for washing.
- Between seatings promptly clean table tops, chairs and booths.
- Check floor and clean as required.
- Reset and arrange tabletops.
- Inspect the assigned restroom every 30 minutes and clean as needed.
- Respond appropriately to guest requests.
- Communicate guest requests to servers as needed. Communicate with servers and hostess to assure efficient seating, table utilization and customer service.
- Assist servers as needed with food delivery, especially with large parties and during peak periods. Thank guests as they leave.
- Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.
- Complete any other tasks or directives issued by your Manager or Superiors in a polite, timely and accurate manner.
Qualifications, Skills and Requirements

- No previous restaurant experience required.
- Have working knowledge of the predominant language(s) of our guests.
- Be able to lift, reach, bend and stoop.
- Carry bus tubs, trays with dishes and glassware.
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours or more).
- Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, chefs and front of house staff
- Be able to reach bend and stoop and frequently pick up weights of 50 pounds or more
