Purpose...
YOU will be changing the lives of carers by making sure they are heard and supported when they most need it and are looking for help. YOU will speak with carers and their families via telephone, email and our online chat to reach as many of them as possible and offer wellbeing reviews, emotional support and better planning. You will become a part of a friendly, supportive and caring Response Line Team dedicated to resolving carers' challenges and finding the right words.
The carers we support come from such different walks of life that we are particularly interested in attracting candidates from similarly diverse backgrounds, including Asian, Arab, Black, Mixed/Multiple Ethnic Groups, White Other (e.g. Eastern European, Gypsy, Roma) and any other Ethnic minorities. ABOUT YOU
You are looking for a meaningful job that will make a difference to your local community.- You enjoy connecting with people on a deeper level and can talk about difficult and challenging issues sensitively and with respect.
- You have a good command of English and find talking or online chatting to people natural and easy, especially if you could be helpful.
- You have had exposure to / experience with / interest in social care and health, particularly as it relates to working with carers.
- You are confident using technology, such as chat applications, databases or CRMs, or are willing to learn.
- You can easily travel across West Sussex if it is needed, although this role is primarily home-based.
- You have the UK right to work and are prepared to undertake relevant background checks, including references and DBS.

KEY DUTIES
YOU will provide information, guidance and support to adults and young people who look after a relative or friend who could not manage without their help (over the phone, virtual chats and emails).- YOU will work as part of a team of staff and volunteers and will provide mentoring to volunteers learning about our carer services.
- YOU will know of/learn about the Think Carer principles and promote them across all networks, including best practice knowledge, understanding of local/national carer landscape and raising awareness of carer issues.
- YOU will partner with local health, social care and voluntary sector organisations to enable carers to access timely and appropriate support.
- YOU will record/report using our outcome-based tools and systems to evidence the work we do for the community and identify any areas for improvement.
- YOU will support/report to Response Line Coordinator through data quality, crosschecks and audits.
