Salary up to £30,000 (depending upon experience) plus pension/parking permit or assistance with train fares and office bonus scheme which will add around £1500/£2000 per annum also.
Well-established niche Woking based law firm looking for a residential property paralegal to join their team and deliver a high-quality service and care to the firm’s established and new client base. The firm has plans to grow to become an even more dynamic and progressive firm who are passionate about what we do.
You will be assisting a caseload and dealing with both sales and purchases of properties as well as acting for both landlord and tenants in respect of residential lease extensions.
It is preferred that you have at least 1 years’ experience as a residential property paralegal and are able to assist full conveyancing transaction from instruction to conclusion, some training can be provided. In addition, you need strong drafting skills, attention to detail and be client focussed. This is a fantastic opportunity for a residential property paralegal (an experienced Secretary looking to take a step up will be considered) to gain hands on experience and work with more autonomy and responsibility in a growing law firm.
Duties
- Help manage a mixed residential caseload from initial instruction to conclusion including Leasehold and Freehold sales and purchases, New Build, Shared Ownership, Remortgages and Transfer of Equity
- Developing and maintaining a positive relationship with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders and solicitors and attending to any enquiries raised at every stage of transaction from initial instruction to completion ensuring client service levels and client standards are always adhered to.
- Working to assist Senior Conveyancers/Partners in the management of their caseload by undertaking legal procedures as supervised by the Conveyancer
- Preparing contract packs and reports to clients
- Obtaining title documents and carrying out searches
- Drafting + Preparing all necessary accounts forms and understanding client ledgers
- Reporting to lenders and submitting Certificate of Titles
- Preparing Land Registry applications and dealing with requisitions
- Preparing SDLT forms
- Dealing with post completion matters including responding to requisitions, registration and sending deeds to clients/bank/building societies and closing files.
It is preferable you have :
- Previous experience in running your own caseload or supporting a Conveyancing department as a Secretary/Assistant/Paralegal
- Preferably a law degree or paralegal qualification
- Knowledge or an understanding of Conveyancing law and practice
- The ability to prioritise and manage your own time
- An adaptable and flexible approach and attitude to address varying needs of clients, and other members of the team.
- Experience of working with case management systems (not mandatory)
