Jackson Sims Recruitment are currently seeking a full time Residential Day Porter for a permanent position at a luxury residential development in West London.
Key Responsibilities:
Your main objective is to welcome visitors, residents and contractors to the building and assist in any way you can. You must ensure that the building is a pleasant environment for residents and visitors as well as a pleasant work environment for yourself. You should look presentable and welcoming at all times and be polite and courteous towards anybody coming in and out of the building.
- Security of the buildings and safety of the residents is of utmost importance. Get to know all residents by sight so that strangers can be challenged
- Keep a log of cars owned by residents and carry out checks to ensure that cars are not causing an obstruction
- Deal appropriately with offenders. Note visitors’ cars and any not belonging to residents. Take action as necessary
- Study the regulations contained within the property’s leases and ensure that regulations such as hanging of washing, use of gardens, noise restrictions etc. are adhered to
- Maintain a day book and key register
- Smart clothing is to be worn except when the nature of the work being carried out would make this impractical. In which case a boiler suit or overalls should be worn
- Maintain an up-to-date list of emergency services and contractors telephone numbers
- Ensure you maintain total confidentiality in dealing with residents and their guests at all times
- All maintenance problems which are reported by residents should be noted and reported to the Managing Agents
- Ensure all gutters and drains around the property are kept clear and are regularly cleaned and disinfected
- Ensure paladin area is disinfected, kept fresh and cleaned regularly
- Carry out an inspection of the entire estate to check for leaking gutters, blocked drains or damage to down pipes, garages, steps, paths, roadways, walls, fences, etc. Report defects to the managing agents
- Use the yearly planner to record all maintenance visits
- Undertake minor works around the property such repairs to fences, touching up damaged paintwork, removing plants from the roofs etc
- Ensure all machinery and tools are maintained in good condition and repair and are cleaned and safely locked away when not in use
- Ensure roadways and paths are free of moss and fungus
- Remove leaves from roadways, lawns and pathways

Hours: Monday to Friday / 6am to 2pm
Previous experience working as a Residential Porter would be desirable and experience in customer facing roles is essential. All successful candidates must be able to provide excellent references and be willing to undergo full vetting checks.
