Pebbles Care have a new opportunity for a part-time Residential Child Care Worker to work on a permanent, peripatetic basis.

The role offers you stability with the additional benefit of varied work. It is ideally suited to someone who is flexible throughout the working week, nights and weekends and enjoys travelling to different locations providing an opportunity to interact with different employees and children.

You will work as a team, building long lasting relationships with our children and young people. You will accompany our young people to and from school or college, facilitate family contact, create a warm and comforting environment, have fun and go on days out as well as shopping, cooking, cleaning and encouraging participation in local activities and hobbies.

Previous experience in Residential Child Care is extremely beneficial, however there are many transferable skills for this role. You need to have a dedicated and resilient approach as well as an extremely caring and nurturing nature.

Our dedicated Learning & Development team support our employees to achieve the industry recognised qualifications and training courses. This may include NVQ/SVQ Level 3, subject to funding. This qualification will enhance your career in Children's Residential Care, opening up future opportunities for advancement within the company.

Desirable Qualities include:

  • One years' experience in child care or youth settings
  • An SCQF Level 7 or Level 3 Diploma / relevant to Children and Young People's Residential workforce, or working towards.
  • An interest in pursuing relevant Child Care qualifications,
  • Familiar with the Codes of Practice set out by regulatory bodies, i.e. SSSC,
  • An existing PVG / DBS certificate

We have over 17 years' experience in supporting some of the most vulnerable young people across the UK. We aim to nurture and develop, so that children and young people can flourish in our care.

Our teams are spread across 45 registered homes and 2 academies that continue to meet the needs of young people and provide supportive ways developing and learning.

We also have excellent learning and development resources to ensure that all our staff have access to high quality, up-to-date training and support.

Remuneration and benefits

Your salary is £22,230.00 to £22,815.00 per annum, pro-rata, depending on experience.

Your working hours are on average 45 hours per week. You will receive paid rest breaks.

As a peripatetic worker, your shift patterns may vary depending on the requirements of the home and the site you work at, and it may be necessary for you to work in multiple sites within your geographical area. Your shifts will be agreed in advance with your line Manager.

You will receive;
