Researcher, The Oxford Martin Programme on the Future of Development Oxford, England
University of Oxford
Full Time
Oxford, England
32332 - 38205 GBP ANNUAL Today
Job description
We have an exciting opportunity for two Researchers to join the new Oxford Martin Programme on the Future of Development. You will join a cohort of pre- and postdoctoral research officers working on firms, labour markets, livelihoods, and structural change in low- and middle-income countries in light of global changes. The distributional impacts of technological change, climate change, and decarbonization efforts are of particular interest to the programme.
The two posts are full time, fixed term until 31 March 2026.
The Researchers will primarily work closely with a multidisciplinary team on existing research but are also encouraged to develop and undertake their own academic research into issues related to the Oxford Martin Programme on the Future of Development. This role is well-suited for candidates looking to gain experience before beginning doctoral studies in economics, public policy, development studies, or related fields.
The successful candidates will have strong analytical skills and hold a Masters degree (or equivalent) in Economics, Political Science, Public Policy, Development Studies, Business, or related fields. Applicants should have an interest in translating economic development research into policy and a commitment to our aim of reframing development away from the preoccupation with aggregate growth and instead focus on shared prosperity in the face of global challenges.
The Oxford Martin School supports the University’s commitment in fostering an inclusive culture which promotes equality and values diversity. We are eager to receive applications from a diverse pool of candidates.
Applications for this vacancy are to be made online and you will be required to upload a CV and supporting statement as part of your application.
Only applications received before 12.00 noon (BST) on Monday 4th September 2023 can be considered.
