Job description

The Nuffield Department of Population Health (NDPH) contains world renowned population health research groups and provides an excellent environment for multi-disciplinary research and teaching. Based within NDPH, the Health Economics Research Centre (HERC) is a well-established group involved in a wide range of methodological and applied research projects, both national and international. This post provides the opportunity to conduct health economic research on a wide range of large data sets collected as part of clinical trials, registries and administrative databases.
We are seeking for a researcher to join the existing HERC group. You will be working on one or more projects and will have the opportunity to contribute to HERC’s varied programme of teaching. The main focus of the project will be the use of patient-level data from trials and cohort studies to inform health policy. It offers the opportunity for the successful applicant to enhance their skills in advanced health economic methodological approaches. The post-holder will work under the supervision of HERC’s senior staff and be supported in their career progression and will be encouraged to identify and take forward their own research interests.
To be considered you will hold a relevant Master’s degree in a subject related to health economics. Substantial research experience and strong data analysis skills, especially in statistical methods within health economics are essential for this post. Experience of working with Stata R and/or SAS would be desirable.
For an informal discussion about the post, please contact: Dr Jose Leal, Associate Professor in Health Economics: [email protected]
The post is full time (part time considered) and fixed term for 2 years. The closing date for applications is noon on Monday, 20 February 2023.
You will be required to upload a CV and a cover letter as part of your online application. The cover letter should clearly describe how you meet each of the selection criteria listed in the job description.
