The team
You will be helping to research on behalf of the needs of the story team, script department and production and monitoring all research requirements. The role
Principal Responsibilities:
- Requires dealing with writers, editorial staff, the Production team and outside contacts.
- Responsibility for monitoring all research requirements and proactively seeking alternative ways to run a story.
- Briefing story team on factual accuracy as appropriate to storylines and issuing research documents.
- Providing research notes prior to first and second draft script meetings for Producers, Directors and Script Editors.
Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)
- Television experience, working in either editorial or production.
- Experience of researching factual or scripted content.
- Experience of handling significant and varied workload within tight deadlines.
- Experience in collecting and collating information from various sources.
- Understanding of scripted TV content.
- Experience of working with various public and/or third sector organisations.
- Demonstrable passion for continuing drama
Other things we’re looking for (key criteria)
- Ability to prioritise and work to strict deadlines, working independently and as part of a team.
- Passion for storytelling e.g involvement in theatre, literature, short films, proof reading scripts.
- Ability to digest and condense large and complex subject areas for documents and meetings.
- Excellent written and verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to use initiative and be proactive.
- Outstanding writing and communication skills.
- Editorial instinct and judgement with knowledge of production requirements of the programme.
