RDL Scientific are looking for an enthusiastic full-time Research Tissue Bank Coordinator to join our dedicated Recruitment Team, which focuses on the recruitment, retention, and delivery of participants into clinical trials and Experimental Medicine studies at a leading Clinical Trial Unit (CUC) based in Cambridge.
This exciting position offers the opportunity to both oversee the Research Tissue Bank participant cohort and deliver, as part of the team, the focused recall studies.
The Research Tissue Bank Coordinator will be accountable for maintaining, growing and utilising the RTB from initial identification and recruitment of suitable volunteers through to re-contacting consented participants to invite them back to the CUC for further characterisation, such as by venepuncture. They may also be involved in the recruitment and delivery of participants to other trials and studies within the CUC. They will be responsible for creating a welcoming environment for our participants, ensuring they are always treated with dignity, privacy, and safety as they are our number one priority.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate all matters related to participant recruitment, screening, enrolment and consenting into the RTB.
- Proactively liaise with all departments to identify and recruit participants into the RTB or other studies based on required selection criteria.
- Increase the size of the RTB through specific Recruitment Drives, engaging with the Marketing Coordinator and providing input into recruitment campaigns and advertising.
- Provide general administration support as required, e.g., arrangement of volunteer appointments, organizing transport as required etc
- Ensure the local study procedures and operations follow HRA, ICH, GCP, GLP, ethical, regulatory, and legal guidelines, relevant SOPs, and company policies.
- Be familiar with Informed Consent Forms (ICF) and know which ICF is suitable for each category of participant
- Perform the efficient and safe collection of low interventional biological samples (which may include but are not limited to blood, saliva, urine) from participants including accurate labelling and management.
- Perform low interventional procedures and clinical assessments including but not limited to, ECG’s, vitals, spirometry, venepuncture according to protocol requirements.
- Collect and record clinical data accurately, consistent with company policy, legal and regulatory requirements.
- Perform data management activities including maintenance of all related recruitment documentation and the high quality tissue inventory.
- Collate metrics and focus on key performance indicators such as participant enrolment/retention figures.

Qualifications
- Degree in Life Sciences or health-related field
- Nursing or Healthcare Assistant qualification
- Immediate Life Support/Basic Life Support certified
- Possess an understanding of ethical, regulatory, and legal requirements such as ICH, HTA, HRA, GCP.
- Experience working in a clinical research environment or in health screening
- Experience in a healthcare environment. e.g., nurse, healthcare assistant, lab assistant/technician, phlebotomist
- Phlebotomy skills
