We are seeking a highly motivated scientist to join an exciting new project at the translational medicine interface in MND. You will be a practically skilled, well organised and committed Research Assistant who will join a team conducting translational research on a drug discovery initiative for motor neuron disease in a project supported by a pharma company. Our approach will use co-cultures of patient-derived cells to test several compounds. You will conduct laboratory research on a semi-independent basis under direction of the principle investigators and in a team with a post-doctoral research associate. You will be expected to maintain human stem cells and differentiate them into neurons and astrocytes, prepare samples for analysis and drug screening.
