Summary of the role

We need a team of talented individuals to support our teaching and research, and in training the next generation of top scientists. This fixed term role is available from 1 September 2023. Working as part of the Penryn Campus Technical Services the role holder provide direct support to research activities in the van Houte lab in the ESI building, Penryn Campus.


The successful candidate will run their own independent research project around understanding genetic barriers to bacteriophage infection in the human pathogen Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The role includes design, preparation and execution of laboratory experiments (e.g. experimental evolution assays, whole genome sequencing, q(RT)-PCR, biochemical analyses), data collection, analyses and interpretation, and preparation of manuscripts for publication.
