UE05: £25,285.00 - £28,929.00 Per Annum, Pro Rata.
College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine / Clinical Sciences / Institute for Regeneration and Repair / Centre for Inflammation Research.
Fixed-Term Contract for 6 months; Full-Time - 35 Hours Per Week.
We are looking for a Research Technician to support research investigating how hormones control macrophage function in the womb and how this might affect women's reproductive health.
The Opportunity:
The post will contribute to a Wellcome Trust-funded research programme investigating the mechanisms that contribute to endometrial repair and how these become dysregulated in women’s reproductive health disorders such as endometriosis. The project uses validated mouse models combined with genetic, pharmacological, and hormonal modulations. The post-holder will support these activities by carrying out essential tasks related to the research.
Your skills and attributes for success:
- A BSc in Biomedical Sciences with experience in immunology/cell biology, tissue repair or a related discipline completed or awaiting examination.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing at a level appropriate to the research.
- Practical experience of biological techniques including flow cytometry, DNA extractions, RNA extractions, PCR/qPCR.
- Excellent organisational skills and initiative.
