ADAS, part of the RSK Group, is seeking a Research Scientist to work in the Biotechnology division on a permanent basis. This role will be lab based out of the Nottingham site.
ADAS Biotechnology is a small R&D and laboratory service provider operating from laboratories in South Nottingham. We develop and apply novel molecular diagnostics and immunoassays for a variety of internal and external clients in the broad areas of veterinary, agricultural and environmental diagnostics (eDNA analysis), and offer a range of commercial services for routine analytical testing.
As part of our plan to grow the business we are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic graduate scientist to join our laboratory team. The role will entail working with a small group of scientists in the delivery of a number of different projects, reporting data to the study directors.
Responsibilities
- Delivery of client projects by optimising techniques, following detailed standard operating procedures (SOP) and performing experiments as required.
- Work as part of the team to ensure that laboratories and equipment are maintained as required.
- To develop new SOPs and procedures for additional processes.
- Complete all laboratory work to the highest possible standard, with close attention to record keeping and adherence to business H&S, environmental and quality standards.
Qualifications/Experience
- A degree in biosciences or equivalent.
- Previous experience in molecular biology techniques- (PCR, RT-PCR, nucleic extraction and quantification, DNA sequencing and sequence analysis, DNA cloning, cell culture, phage display, immunoassays such as ELISA and Western blotting, microbiological techniques) would be ideal, but full training to the appropriate candidate would be given in post.
Salary / Benefits
- £26,000 - £30,000 depending on experience
