Summary:
Rogers Corporation is seeking a Senior Development Engineer to join our RF Solutions team. This position will be available at our development hub in Chandler, AZ. The candidate will receive guidance on customer needs from our market segments managers and solve those needs through differentiated solutions. The candidate will be responsible for establishing sound basis for the technical development of these new solutions and their associated manufacturing processes. The candidate will work with engineers and scientists located around the world to develop and commercialize Rogers new offerings to Power, Protect, and Connect the world.
Essential Functions:
- Assist in the planning and execution of medium to large development projects.
- Review technical requirements for products and materials to develop and execute experimental tests for products and manufacturing processes.
- Perform technical troubleshooting on existing processes and products, as required, to advance product development and improve overall performance.
- Solve complex problems using conventional approaches or work with internal resources to develop new/unconventional solutions.
- Deliver reports outlining progress of current and ongoing projects.
- Extensively document processes and material specifications used in the development process.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Materials Science, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering or related field. May consider equivalent work experience in lieu of degree
- Experience in materials selection, materials processing, and product development for materials driven applications
- Thorough understanding of polymer and/or composite characterization techniques and failure analysis
- 7+ years of experience as a scientist supporting research and development or new product development activities.
- 7+ years of materials science or engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, or in support of a manufacturing operation
- Track record of accomplishments in product development and project management
- Ability to work as part of a cross-functional team
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, plan, organize and oversee multiple complex research projects
Preferred Experience:
- Thermoset processing or product technology experience
- Experience with Stage-Gate or Funnel Processes
- Experience working with an IATF 16949:2016 compliant quality system
