And now we want you to join our lifesaving team. We are looking for a Research Manager to join our Research Office team.
Title: Research Manager
Salary: £35,000 per annum
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 35 per week (standard Anthony Nolan working hours)
Location: Hybrid between home and head office in Hampstead, London
It is an exciting time for Research in Anthony Nolan. We have developed our 5-year research strategy and this role will play a crucial part in helping us to deliver it. This role will be part of a newly formed Research Office which will (1) support researchers as they design new projects and (2) implement changes in how we work, such as ensuring there is the correct governance procedures in place for the approval of research projects.
You will:
- Provide advice and guidance: using your knowledge and experience of research methodologies act as a key point of contact to provide advice, guidance and support in the design and delivery of research projects. From initial idea generation, through approval, delivery and translation of findings.
- Implement changes: work with the Head of Research Office to implement the key changes to support the effective delivery of the research strategy. Developing processes, systems and ways of working including Public and Patient Involvement and Engagement. Help to develop and support internal and external research collaborations/projects.
- Educate, train and support researchers' career development: design and deliver training on key subject areas such as, raising understanding of research methodologies, statistics, research publications, etc. Work with university and academic institute administration departments to support career development opportunities for research teams, e.g., post graduate research students.
You will bring:
- Experience of providing credible advice and guidance on the design and delivery of research projects preferably in a medical research organisation or university. Ideally holding a PhD qualification.
- Extensive knowledge of research methodologies and the management and delivery of research projects.
- The skills to clearly understand and communicate complex information, both verbally and in writing. Making use of these skills to influence and negotiate with colleagues across all levels of the organisation.
