Coventry University is seeking a Research Associate to work in the Centre for Healthcare Research.
The Centre for Healthcare Research seeks to enable academic and clinical healthcare leaders, educators and researchers to develop and lead research across the NHS, universities and partners, creating the key links between research, practice and education to make a difference to patient care at local, national and global level. Through the combination of academic and clinical expertise, the centre supports skilled, compassionate, effective health care and best patient outcomes, through excellence in research and development, innovation and enterprise, education, capacity building and leadership.
The post-holder will work on a project funded by Health Education England entitled ‘Widening access and improving retention and career progression into the Paramedic Profession for Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic Groups within the West Midlands’.
This project, in partnership with the West Midlands Ambulance Services (WMAS) is composed of three workstreams including three independent interventions covering the whole paramedic professional cycle from pre-qualification to post-qualification.
- Project 1: Widening access and entry into paramedic sciences
- Project 2: The use of asset-based community development (ABCD) framework to support engagement and empowerment of ethnically diverse paramedic students
- Project 3: Creating a sustainable leadership progression for ethnically diverse groups within WMAS
The research assistant will work with Dr Amanda Adegboye, Professor Rosie Kneafsey, Professor Julia Carroll and the rest of the team to undertake a literature review, establish data collection schedules for focus groups, interviews and workshops, assist in data collection and help with report writing. The post is a fixed-term, part-time position.
