Summary
We are looking for a Research Evaluation Assistant to work with and support the Research Evaluation team and the work of the International Center for the Study of Research in Oxford, London or as a home-based employee. The successful candidate will support, in particular, ongoing research projects being carried out by the team. Key activities include helping to supporting project leads with desk research, promoting research that is conducted in the Lab, and working with our communications and marketing colleagues to promote the research projects. For a successful candidate with an interest in conducting research and/or data analysis, the role also provides opportunity to conduct research on a topic of relevance to ICSR and summarise results in a PowerPoint deck or short report.
If you are passionate about supporting researchers and interested to learn more about the challenges facing them, then this role is for you. You will have a Research Evaluation Manager as your mentor, but will also have close working relationships with data scientists and product managers in Research Evaluation team as well as closely connected departments. You will work in a diverse and multicultural environment with colleagues located across several sites globally.
You will learn about aspects of product management, as well as skills relating to conducting research. You will find a supportive, lively and welcoming atmosphere in the team.
Responsibilities

ICSR Lab product management:
- Identify opportunities and collaborate to write promotional stories about success stories for users of ICSR Lab
- Support the ongoing promotion for calls for applications for ICSR Lab
- Provide administrative support for the management of ICSR Lab applications

Supporting ongoing ICSR research projects:
- Desk research and literature reviews for topics of interest
- Optionally: data analysis and visualisation for research project and their results (e.g. Excel-based)

Discovery stage research:
- Exploratory work on topics of interest to ICSR
- Summarise results and share with key stakeholders within the Research Evaluation team
Requirements
- An interest in science and research
- An interest in (science) communication
- Good IT skills, with Excel and PowerPoint most important
- Excellent organizational, time-management, and communication skills
- Ability to get on with all kinds of people
- Optional: data analysis skills and entry level programming knowledge, e.g. Python
