Role Purpose
Research and Development Engineer
Salary: From £33,191
This opportunity, based at our Prestwick site offers:

- Willing to develop a broad range of skills quickly in Technical Engineering and/or R&T.
- Delivers projects to required Time, Cost, and Quality standard.
- Perform standard technical tasks within prescribed processes and procedures using standard tools.
- Ensures work programmes are delivered within budgets and deadlines and in line with customer requirements.
- Undertake activities as directed by Functional and/or Project leadership.
- Support key stakeholders, including Lead Engineers and peers, to ensure customer requirements, safety and environmental standards are met.
- Interface effectively with other team members within specific discipline.
- Adheres to the relevant company, customer and regulatory processes and procedures.
- Engages and collaborates with Mentors.
- Maintains an Engineering log book.
- Willing to work towards professional registration (if not already registered).
- Graduate in Engineering discipline (Aeronautical, Aerospace, Mechanical, Materials or equivalent), or equivalent.
- Typically less than 5 years’ professional experience.
- Experience in applying Engineering tools, techniques and the use of specialised equipment.
- Experience in working individually and in teams to deliver a project.
- Knowledge of aerospace engineering, materials, processes, manufacturing, configuration management, project or programme management.
- Knowledge and understanding of Company Processes and Procedures, standards relating to aerospace engineering, as well as health & safety and environment, would be beneficial. ·
- Project management, planning and organising skills.
- An understanding of general theories and applications covering a broad knowledge of Structural Design or Structural Analysis or Materials & Processes or Weights or Configuration Management or Manufacturing or Research and Technology is required.
- Knowledge of aerospace methods and toolsets.
- Proficient in relevant IT applications and software packages.
- Strong communication skills.
- Fluent in oral and written English.
Decision Making Authority
- Identifies and implements methods and techniques to be used within own particular work area.
