Our Opportunity:
We are seeking a full-time DEI Research and Development Fellow to work with Purdue Global and the Office of Organizational Culture and Inclusive Excellence (OCIE) to support efforts and implementation of an equity-focused, externally funded project. This year-long post-doctoral position will provide a training opportunity for an early career individual to explore evaluation, assessment, and research in DEI. Job Summary:
The DEI Research and Development Fellow is a team player who does well in a collaborative environment and has an interest in DEI, with strong training in quantitative and qualitative research and design. This position will not only work closely with the Office of Organizational Culture and Inclusive Excellence, but also with the Assessment, Analysis, and Reporting team, the Assessment and Research team, and the Marketing and Communication teams, among other units across the university. With the guidance of the VP of Organizational Culture/Chief Diversity Officer and the Director of Inclusive Excellence and Strategic Initiatives, the fellow will monitor and track DEI-related data, evaluate DEI interventions, and help develop data-informed DEI best practices, along with visualizations to communicate DEI data internally to unit leads and externally for presentations.
What to Expect in This Role:
The DEI Research and Development Fellow will execute short and long-term projects that support equity and grant-supported initiative goals to:
- Identify quantitative and qualitative research needs.
- Design and conduct quantitative and qualitative equity focused studies, including the coordination and administration of DEI data collection, analysis, interpretation, and reporting processes.
- Produce reports and visualizations of assessment findings to share with constituencies across the institution.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with employees of all divisions throughout the University.
- Demonstrate commitment to and support for a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Engage actively with the team of faculty, students, staff, and administrators
What We Are Looking For:
- Ph.D. in psychology, sociology, criminology, public health or related area completed by the start of the employment.
- Experience conducting research and disseminating results.
- Proficiency in MS Office in particular Excel and PowerPoint, Google Drive and Apps.
- Knowledge and ability to work with data analytic software, particularly SPSS, and different technology systems and platforms, especially those that apply across the PG/KNA environments, like Tableau and Brightspace.
- Excellent research, data analysis and reporting skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure, take initiative, prioritize and follow through on multiple tasks while maintaining a high degree of accuracy, speed and poise.
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment, across diverse teams, departments, and schools.
