ROLE SUMMARY
As Lead R&D Integration Engineer, you will work with a cross-functional R&D development team to develop the next generation of medical diagnostics products. You will lead the integration of the subsystems within the R&D team, adding electrical and biological components to the microfluidic core of the system. You will serve as the bridge between the engineering and biological parts of the R&D team, and you will also organize the creation of Engineering R&D builds of prototype devices in our research assembly line.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the development of experiments to evaluate new designs, optimize device performance, reduce cost, and test design/manufacturing changes.
- Compile test data, statistically analyze results, and develop reports and presentations to summarize your findings.
- Direct the building of prototype devices to support device testing and troubleshooting.
- Develop fixtures and experimental tools and data analysis scripts to aid in testing and product development.
- Organize the testing of biological processes on our engineered devices.
- Manage one or more integration engineers.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, biomedical, or chemical engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of work experience in a biomedical engineering setting
- Comfort with a range of scientific topics including heat transfer, mass transport, electrical engineering, optics, and some chemistry.
- Biological lab experience
- Working knowledge of CAD (SolidWorks) and 3D printing
- Experience with MATLAB and/or Python
- Experimental engineering experience including design of experiments, documentation, and analysis of results.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Advanced degree in mechanical, biomedical, or chemical engineering, or a related field
- Experience with microfluidic devices
- Experience with modeling techniques such as finite element analysis, ray tracing, monte carlo simulations

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $106,300.00 to $177,100.00. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 15.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan, paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Salary range does not apply to the Tampa, FL location.
Relocation assistance may be available based on business needs and/or eligibility.
