Job description
What You'll Work On
- Design, prototype, and optimize meaningful medical devices that revolutionize treatment paradigms for a variety of challenging disease states.
- Ensure that the medical device is in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and quality control standards.
- Plan and coordinate project tasks and activities while keeping in mind the big picture.
- Create test protocols and conduct testing to mitigate clinical risk for a wide range of medical device concepts.
- Develop clinically relevant benchtop models to simulate complex anatomy and disease states.
- Coordinate with suppliers and other external resources to source components and refine component specifications.
- Collate and distill clinical data from physicians and other medical professionals into comprehensive product specifications.
- Investigate and vet novel technologies and incorporate them into innovative designs.
- Originate robust documentation packages that contain CAD drawings, test protocols, test reports, studies, work instructions, risk analysis, etc.
- Represent R&D Engineering on a cross-functional team for design control efforts leading to device submission to regulatory bodies worldwide.
What You'll Bring
- A passion and knack for solving hands-on and multi-disciplinary technical design problems.
- A portfolio demonstrating strong engineering acumen and mechanical intuition.
- Interest in coordinating and communicating project tasks in a cross-functional environment– prior experience in project management desired but not required.
- The ability to communicate complex issues in a clear and compelling manner, both in writing and orally.
- Refined soft skills that allow you to effectively interact with cross-functional teams.
- A high level of organization with the ability to navigate multiple tasks with competing priority.
Working Conditions
- General office environment. Business travel from 0% - 10%. Potential exposure to blood-borne pathogens. Requires some lifting and moving of up to 25 pounds. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms, and to use a computer, sitting for extended periods. Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to read, close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
Alameda, CA- Starting Base Salary is $90,500/year - $120,312/year.
