As an integral part of the R&D team and closely involved in the NPD process, the TMTT Lab Senior Technologist will be responsible for the managing and maintaining several pieces of key equipment as well as managing general lab tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Take primary responsibility for TMTT hydrodynamic testing for heart valve repair and replacement devices
Perform work using drawings, diagrams, written and verbal instructions, layouts or defined plans to conduct testing, checkout, and trouble-shooting functions
Draft and revise test method standard operating procedures and sample preparation procedures.
Support engineering lab activities such as maintaining lab equipment and surrounding areas, performing preventative maintenance and managing calibrations
Create and manage equipment usage trackers and reservations systems for key pieces of equipment
Perform operational test and identify failure modes on systems and equipment
Collect and document test data
Other incidental duties
Education and Experience:
Associate's Degree -or- technical degree/certificate in related field with 8 years previous experience in R&D Lab and/or medical device experience is required
Hydrodynamic valve testing experience is preferred
R&D lab, cardiac anatomy, and/or medical device experience is preferred
Additional Skills:
Basic written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills
Good computer skills, including usage of MS Office Suite
Moderate understanding of equipment in a lab environment
Ability to perform basic troubleshooting
Ability to identify problems and relevant issues in straightforward situations, assessing using standard procedures
Ability to use manufacturing, test, development or diagnostic equipment (e.g., Keyence, Instron, 3D printers)
Ability to read and understand procedures, drawings, schematics and carry out assembly instructions
Good Documentation Practices
Knowledge of and adherence to Edwards Environmental Health and Safety and Quality guidelines as they relate to lab and/or clean room medical device manufacturing
Strict attention to detail
Must be able to work under close supervision
Adhere to all company rules and requirements (e.g., pandemic protocols, Environmental Health & Safety rules) and take adequate control measures in preventing injuries to themselves and others as well as to the protection of environment and prevention of pollution under their span of influence/control

For California, the base pay range for this position is $65,000 to $92,000 (highly experienced).
The pay for the successful candidate will depend on various factors (e.g., qualifications, education, prior experience).
