At our site in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, our pre-clinical Pharmacology department is looking to recruit a Research Associate to provide support to the scientific team by performing a wide range of technical procedures and data collection to support safety pharmacology and discovery studies.
Duties Include:
Conducting regulated procedures as detailed in the Personal and Project Licences and in accordance with A(SP)A
Demonstrating good understanding of pharmacology generation systems, sampling system and procedure for standard study type;
Proactively engaging in further development, validation, refinement and improvement of pharmacology systems, techniques, data acquisition, analysis and/or delivery;
Capturing and processing data for inclusion in reports;
Assisting in planning and co-ordination of the team's day to day workloads and ensure that adequate resources are available to meet study needs
Reading and complying with Study Plans, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and associated documentation to ensure that study based requirements are clearly understood and actioned where appropriate.
Data checking to ensure compliance with SOPs, Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and Good Manufacturing practice (GMP) and reporting of any deviations
Ensuring that equipment and associated documentation is used, maintained and stored in accordance with SOPs
Adhering to strict timelines for on time delivery of data for the team

Education:
BSc, preferably in Pharmacology or Biology related subject
Relevant experience may be substituted for education requirements
Skills / Experience:
Previous scientific work experience desirable, preferably working to GLP
Strong team player
Ability to quickly learn new tasks and methodologies
Proficient with computers and software programs, specifically ability to learn ones utilized for departmental data collection and analysis
In vivo experience advantageous
Holder of a Home Office licence (PIL A&B) is advantageous
