Full Time Sheffield, England 35333 - 43414 GBP ANNUAL Today
Job description

Are you interested in working for a world top 100 university? We have an exciting opportunity in the Health Services Research section of ScHARR for someone with a passion for mental health research looking to use their skills in qualitative research methods to make an impact on ethnic inequalities in mental health care.

You will join the Mental Health Research Unit in our large and diverse academic School of Health & Related Research (ScHARR). You will use your proven research skills to provide essential support to the delivery of an evaluation of the local implementation of the Patient and Carer Race Equality Framework.

You will have a Masters Degree in health or social care or equivalent, and a strong track record of qualitative, evaluative and participatory research methods. You will also be experienced in undertaking research with racialised and minority ethnic communities. Experience of using theory of change and logic model approaches would be an advantage.

You will have a good knowledge of ethnic inequalities in mental health care, co-production and other approaches relevant to undertaking research on sensitive issues and in seldom-heard communities. Applications from individuals with lived experience of mental health service use and/or ethnic inequalities in healthcare are especially welcome.

You will work in a research team led by Professor Scott Weich in ScHARR, with colleagues in the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health. Together this team will coordinate and deliver the project in collaboration with a wider network drawn from Yorkshire & Humber NIHR ARC, Sheffield Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust, Sheffield Flourish, SACMHA Health & Social Care and other community partners.

We are committed to exploring flexible working opportunities which benefit the individual and University.

We’re one of the best not-for-profit organisations to work for in the UK. The University’s Total Reward Package includes a competitive salary, a generous Pension Scheme and annual leave entitlement, as well as access to a range of learning and development courses to support your personal and professional development.

We build teams of people from different heritages and lifestyles from across the world, whose talent and contributions complement each other to greatest effect. We believe diversity in all its forms delivers greater impact through research, teaching and student experience.
