Job description
Are you interested in working for a world top 100 university? We are looking to appoint a Research Associate to work on a project funded by the QR Policy Support Fund, and supported by HELSI: The Healthy Lifespan Institute. The project involves researchers in the Information School, Dr Nicola Jay, (Consultant Paediatrician Respiratory and Allergy, Clinical lead for South Yorkshire CYP alliance and ICB lead) and two GP practices based in Sheffield. This project aims to initiate a research co-production process with two marginalised communities in Sheffield, and to inform the design of research funding bids in the area of Health Information Literacy (HIL).
The project begins on April 1st, 2023 and will last until 30th September 2023. Specifically, the project aims to:
- Develop partnerships with the two GP practices and the marginalised community groups they serve: in Pitsmoor, focusing on the Somali, Roma, South Asian communities and in Sky Edge, focusing on the impoverished mainly white community, to generate interest in the project.
- Host a series of co-production workshops with patients, community groups and other stakeholders to discover community perspectives on critical issues in health literacy.
- Establish evidence of partnership and define priorities for future funding bids.
If you feel like you would be a good fit for the role, we would love to hear from you!
