The Sport Industry Research Group is a leading UK research and evaluation team working in the field of Sports Economics and Management Sciences. Since 1996 we have undertaken applied research into important research questions in the UK and abroad to influence policy and make positive societal impacts.
We are looking for two permanent Research Assistants to join us and help us deliver our portfolio of work at an exciting time to be working in the sport industry.
You will support experienced researchers across a range of work strands including the economics of sport; the impact of major sports events; elite sport development systems; programme evaluations; school sport; outdoor recreation; and social value.
We would like to recruit ambitious and enthusiastic candidates with experience and skills in both qualitative and quantitative methods. The successful candidates will be expected to assist senior researchers to: design research instruments, carry out literature reviews, conduct fieldwork, collect and analyse data; and produce reports and other outputs.
Our track record in helping staff to develop and progress is impressive. We have great staff stability and our team members are supported to progress to as far as their potential will take them. In time, staff grow their own research interests and start to apply for their own funding opportunities, leading on smaller projects and contributing to proposals, journal articles and conference presentations. There is also plenty of opportunities for domestic and international travel.
The team works currently in a hybrid environment, where researchers are expected to be on-site when their duties require it, and to work from where they work best at other times.
