Full time contract: 35 hours per week

Fixed Term contract: until April 2026

We are looking for motivated and creative candidates with a strong interest and background in the applied psychology of mental health. This is an exciting opportunity to be the Edinburgh Research Assistant in the EU funded SMILE study. The SMILE study is a multi-site EU Horizon funded project which aims to develop and evaluate a universal game based digital preventative intervention for depression and anxiety in young people.

The Opportunity:

The post-holder will have some experience and interest in research on youth mental health and digital psychological interventions. The postholder will be responsible for recruitment and assessment of participants in the study and will work closely with the multi site project team. The successful applicant will join the Section of Clinical Psychology in the School of Health in Social Science and become a member of the Contextual Mental Health Research Group.

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Up-to-date theoretical and practical knowledge in working with youth mental health and or digital psychological intervention research.
  • Experience of using psychological self report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews with people with severe mental health problems.
  • Proven ability to use initiative to efficiently plan, optimise and progress project and communicate findings.
