ShareWe invite applications for a Researcher to work on a logistics optimisation project funded by EPSRC and led by Dr Jie Zhang, based in the Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning research group in the Department of Computer Science.
The project aims to study an uncertain logistics network that optimises total efficiency while satisfying uncertain constraints. You will build up logistics and transportation models, design efficient algorithms, and contribute to the analysis of algorithms, mathematical proofs, and evaluation.
The group has a strong focus on modelling, constructing, evaluating, and understanding complete systems. Working as part of an interdisciplinary academic team you will be expected to:
- Have a good knowledge of the logistics, supply chain, and transportation sectors;
- Provide mathematical and computer science expertise to design, implement, deploy, maintain, and evaluate algorithms;
- Write and publish academic papers, technical reports, and project deliverables;
- Have a PhD in computer science, mathematics, operations research, or equivalent professional qualifications and experience.
About us:
The Department of Computer Science was ranked 5th in the UK in the Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2020.
