This new part-time (0.5 FTE) position is available immediately on a fixed term basis until February 2025, working from our Penryn Campus in Cornwall. The role offers the opportunity for hybrid working – some time on campus and some from home.


We are open to applications for a Postdoctoral or a Graduate Research Assistant. Please see the attached Job Descriptions for the differences.


Here you will be a member of the European Centre for Environment and Human Health (ECEHH; www.ecehh.org), a research centre of the University of Exeter Medical School and an internationally leading research institution investigating the linkages between environments and health and wellbeing.


This post will contribute to 3 linked projects: SenseWell (funded by EPSRC), CommunitySense (funded by the Good Growth Programme, Shared Prosperity Fund) and the Social Return on Investment for Domestic Environmental Monitoring (funded by the EPSRC IAA fund). The aims of these linked projects are to explore the potential role and value of domestic environmental sensors to provide insight and support to improve the targeting and provision of services to vulnerable householders.


As the successful applicant, you will be engaging with participants to support recruitment and engagement in project activities. In addition, you will be involved in qualitative data collection and analysis and contributing to associated papers and public facing communications. You will join a multi-disciplinary project team which includes individuals with expertise in health geography, maths and statistics, environmental/health economics and environment and health and other colleagues across the University, and our project partners. You will be involved in a variety of activities, including (but not limited to):

  • Supporting the team to develop Theory of Change and Logic Models;
  • Recruiting project participants;
  • Involvement in qualitative data collection and analysis, and contributing to associated papers
  • Organising workshops and events with participants and project partners
  • Contributing to collaborative decision making within the research group.
