This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly growing research programme concerning children and young people's mental health; the ChARM group. The post-holder will work with Anne-Marie Burn to support the SORTS project and other CHARM projects as required.
In the next phase, we will work with a technical provider to co-produce two stand-alone e-learning modules to develop staff's skills to effectively communicate with pupils about self-harm, optimally respond to disclosure or incidents of self-harm and to encourage pupils to seek help. These will consist of scenarios for staff to practice and consolidate new skills, evidence-based information, and a bank of resources for staff to signpost pupils to further support. The Research Assistant will be responsible for day-to-day project administration, helping with participant recruitment via schools, contacting and communicating with participants, organising and co-facilitating focus groups and meetings with public advisory group, supporting qualitative data analysis and report writing. Contribution to publications will be encouraged as both lead and co-author. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to get involved in other work in the ChARM team according to the needs of current projects and the interests of the post-holder.
Candidates should have a degree in Psychology, Neuroscience or Medical Sciences or equivalent or be very close to completion/award of same prior to their appointment to the post.

Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 13 months in the first instance.
