Vitalant Research Institute in San Francisco is seeking a talented, highly motivated Research Associate I to join the Immunology Core (https://research.vitalant.org/Cores/Imm.aspx). The lab focuses on high throughput immune testing and assays development to detect virus infections.
The candidate will work on high throughput assays, ELISA, Luminex and GCLP compliance. He/she will be involved in SARS-Cov2 and HIV antibody screening and characterization, and inflammatory markers testing to evaluate and improve the safety and availability of the blood supply as well as the safety and effectiveness of transfusion therapies. Excellent written and oral communication skills, record keeping and logical troubleshooting capabilities are required. Must be able to work independently, be highly detail oriented.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Utilizes knowledge of standard clinical and research procedures and techniques, and standard equipment and/or software to generate and interpret results.
Assists with database management and performs basic to advanced statistical analysis.
Assists with the preparation of grant documents, including coordination and analysis of data using statistical, spreadsheet, and/or graphics software needed for progress reports, abstracts, and manuscripts.
Orders and receives supplies and performs other administrative duties, as assigned.
Obtains health data, such as medical records, from physicians, hospitals, or other health care providers approved for release for research studies. Understands and adheres to institutional review board and human subjects requirements.
