The University of Portsmouth is an ambitious institution with a track record of success. One of only four universities in the south east of England to achieve a Gold rating in the Teaching Excellence Framework and ranked in the top 150 in the Times Higher Young University World Rankings.
The School of Health and Care Professions intends to appoint a Research Associate, who will work on a project funded by the National Institute of Health & Care Research (NIHR) Applied Research Collaboration (ARC) Wessex to help increase capacity in adult social care research. Our overall aim of the project is to build research capacity in social care through establishing a research learning partnership between the University of Portsmouth (UoP) and Portsmouth City Council (PCC) adult social care team, the public and other key partners, and develop co-produced research relevant to PCC adult social care practice and national issues. The research project will involve working together with PCC adult social care to identify and prioritise research topics for development for further grant funding opportunities, and undertaking preliminary research activities (e.g. a systematic review, public involvement activities, and potential data gathering) on a prioritised topic in social care of older adults.
You will join a team of experienced researchers and will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the research element of the project, organising and conducting engagement and co-production activities, identifying, analysing and synthesising research evidence as part of a systematic review, and contributing to the development and delivery of research proposals and learning and development activities.
The successful candidate will be part of the Faculty of Science and Health at the University of Portsmouth and will attend regular meetings of the research team and travel as required to support dissemination of the results.
