Job description
The UK DRI is seeking a Research Assistant to join the Bioelectronics Group within the Care Research & Technology Centre and Next Generation Neural Interfaces (NGNI) lab at Imperial College London. As a Research Assistant in the lab, you will join a collaborative and highly skilled team, developing and investigating how remote sensing with radar can be applied at home to gain new insights and improve care for people living with dementia (PLWD). You will be developing new algorithms and software methods for processing and interpreting radar data as well as planning, conducting, and evaluating validation trials. This will be in support of translational efforts to deploy and upscale use of our technology in the homes of PLWD.
Duties and responsibilities
Research Duties:
To develop new algorithms and software methods for processing and interpreting radar data
To plan, conduct, and evaluate validation trials in cohorts of healthy participants, and cohorts of participants with neurodegenerative conditions (e.g. mild cognitive impairment, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, etc).
To support translational efforts to deploy and upscale use of our technology in home settings.
To assist with the analysis of data
To ensure the validity and reliability of data at all times
To maintain accurate and complete records of all findings
Essential requirements
A first / masters degree (or equivalent) in electronic or biomedical engineering
Experience working with ultra-wideband radar and interpreting related data
Experience conducting validation trials with human participants
Previous experience in a research laboratory environment
Ability to conduct a detailed review of recent literature
