We are looking for an awesome Research Associate with amazing skills in data science and statistics to join the team and help contribute to an incredible research environment. You’ll apply your quantitative expertise to take the lead on research projects while also supporting other researchers and clinician-scientists in developing new lines of inquiry. You should be someone who loves learning new skills, teaching and helping others, and be passionate about transforming the healthcare system to improve how care is delivered.
We look forward to hearing from you.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Work with the research team and act as the lead in quantitative methods.

  • Lead and oversee the execution of the quantitative aspects of our projects, from study design to analysis to dissemination.
  • Seek out and apply for funding opportunities to support the sustainability of the research program.
  • Support our commitment to open science through the development of research data management plans and appropriate data sharing methods.
  • Mobilize our discoveries and innovations through both traditional (e.g., peer-reviewed journals and conference presentations) and non-traditional (e.g., policy documents and community outreach) dissemination methods.
  • Help build internal capacity in the methodologies in which you are an expert, through the creation and delivery of educational materials, seminars, and workshops.

WHY YOU WANT TO BE HERE

  • We’re a growing team looking to lead the digital healthcare space in Canada.
  • You’ll join one of the most forward-thinking digital hospitals in the country.
  • You’ll be exposed to some of the coolest healthcare technologies today, including Canada’s first hospital-based command centre, a closed-loop robotic pharmacy, and a cutting-edge program in robotic surgery.

WHO YOU ARE

  • You have significant training and/or experience in a quantitative discipline (i.e., data science, statistics, quantitative psychology, computer science, etc.), at the PhD level.
  • You’re a pro with area-specific tools such as R, Python, and Git, as well as more general tools like EndNote and Office.
  • You have at least 2 years’ experience managing multiple research projects of various scopes and sizes.
  • You enjoy helping others develop research ideas into real projects as well as experience developing your own lines of research.
  • You like helping people learn more about the areas you’re an expert in.
  • You have strong knowledge of research best practices, the Canadian healthcare system, and the healthcare funding landscape.
  • You’re able to communicate your ideas to a range of audiences and integrate the feedback you receive to improve your work.
  • You have a desire to positively change the way healthcare is delivered using the newest digital tools.
