RESEARCH ASSOCIATE
Location: Wilson site, Humber River Hospital, Toronto
Type: Fulltime, permanent
Start date: 03 April 2023 or shortly after
Reports to: Manager of Research Operations
THE BASICS
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Work with the research team and act as the lead in quantitative methods.
- Collaborate with hospital researchers, clinician-scientists, and leadership to develop novel research ideas and turn those ideas into well-designed research projects.
- Lead and oversee the execution of the quantitative aspects of our projects, from study design to analysis to dissemination.
- Seek out and apply for funding opportunities to support the sustainability of the research program.
- Support our commitment to open science through the development of research data management plans and appropriate data sharing methods.
- Mobilize our discoveries and innovations through both traditional (e.g., peer-reviewed journals and conference presentations) and non-traditional (e.g., policy documents and community outreach) dissemination methods.
- Help build internal capacity in the methodologies in which you are an expert, through the creation and delivery of educational materials, seminars, and workshops.

WHO YOU ARE
- You have significant training and/or experience in a quantitative discipline (i.e., data science, statistics, quantitative psychology, computer science, etc.), at the PhD level.
- You’re a pro with area-specific tools such as R, Python, and Git, as well as more general tools like EndNote and Office.
- You have at least 2 years’ experience managing multiple research projects of various scopes and sizes.
- You enjoy helping others develop research ideas into real projects as well as experience developing your own lines of research.
- You like helping people learn more about the areas you’re an expert in.
- You have strong knowledge of research best practices, the Canadian healthcare system, and the healthcare funding landscape.
- You’re able to communicate your ideas to a range of audiences and integrate the feedback you receive to improve your work.
- You have a desire to positively change the way healthcare is delivered using the newest digital tools.
