Harper Adams University is focusing on a combination of field and glasshouse trials testing the feasibility of growing organic tree species from seed for the tree nursery industry. Field and glasshouse studies are assessing the germination, plant health, potential yield and cost of growing 5 tree species under certified organic conditions at different pH and irrigation levels.
We are looking to recruit a self-motivated individual to our team. The role will involve liaising directly with the landowner and project lead, providing regular updates to the project team, collecting data in the field and glasshouse and writing the final report delivering the findings of the study. The role will be supported by academics from the university as well as the CERC team.
Whilst experience in crop production and writing up of academic research is desirable, individuals who do not have this experience but are practical, well-motivated, enthusiastic and can demonstrate a willingness and ability to develop new skills are welcomed. Driving license is a requirement.
