Panda Surgical is developing state-of-the-art robotic technologies that aim to enhance minimally invasive brain-surgery. As an early-stage medical device manufacturing start-up, we are in our Research and Development stage, and we are seeking a suitable candidate to help with our product development.
What you will do
Our Research and Development Engineer will have a range of job duties centered on the creation, enhancement, and evaluation of our medical robotic devices.
- You will primarily focus on conducting research related to controlling and ensuring the safety of our devices. This research will involve identifying prevailing trends, techniques, and technologies that can significantly shape our development process.
- Using specialized software and mathematical analyses, you will actively contribute to the design and prototyping phases of developing secure and dependable medical devices.
- In the later stages of our development process, your esponsibilities will extend to testing and assessing our product's performance to ensure that it meets the required standards of quality and safety.
- You will finally be responsible for implementing necessary enhancements and improvements as deemed necessary after stress-testing.
What we need
- A PhD in robotic surgery, preferrably in robotic control for continuum robots.
- Proficiency in MATLAB / Simulink and ROS.
- Proficiency in Python and C/C++ and experience with robotic frameworks and libraries.
- Embedded firmware / hardware experience and exposure.
- Experience with analytical methods, and machine learning techniques.
- Good knowledge of Arduino frameworks, electronics, and CAD is a plus.
- Experience working as part of a start-up is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £45,000.00-£55,000.00 per year
