About the Role
Base Location: Clunie Power Station by Pitlochry
Salary: £23,730 - £27,174 depending on skills and experience + Performance-Related- Bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

SSE Renewables Hydro operates and maintains over 1000MW of Hydro Generation and associated infrastructure, with our Operations and Maintenance Teams being responsible for the operation and maintenance of our Hydro Generation assets which may incorporate environmental and safety inspections.
The multi-disciplined team in the Hydro business unit are accountable for the day to day operation, maintenance and repair of our Hydro Generation assets including grounds to ensure it is kept in a safe and efficient state.
Some of your main accountabilities will include;
- Routine works which involves maintenance, inspections and cleaning at power stations, dams, and buildings.
- Assisting the maintenance team to carry out minor repairs, servicing, and defect rectification.
- Low impact environmental manual recovery and optimisation of associated water catchment areas.
- Hill ditching, increasing storage capacity in small dams and clearing intake structures.
- Carrying out risk assessments and reporting operational defects along with environmental and safety inspections.
Full training will be provided on operating fixed Generation plant.
What do I need?
We are looking for practical enthusiastic people who have the ability to work under their own initiative whilst being part of an effective team.
To be considered for this role, we would also love you to have;
- Previous experience of civil or estate works or have a background in forestry or farming.
- A good understanding of the outdoor environment, with the ability to demonstrate knowledge of civil maintenance works such as ditching, road repairs, building maintenance and general repairs.
- Willingness to work outside in all weather conditions, and it may be necessary to carry out work out-with normal working hours when required.
- A full UK valid driving licence is essential.
