Job description

The Role: What you will do?

Are you looking for a chance to work flexibly and remotely? Perhaps you’re looking for part time hours, contracted work, or something a little different? As a VitaMinds Locum, you can find the flexibility you’re looking for, whilst providing meaningful mental health support to NHS patients across the UK!

Getting to know Us

Hello! We are the VitaMinds team – we provide NHS-funded Talking Therapies to clients with common mental health presentations, such as anxiety and depression. As a Locum PWP, you will join one of our vibrant Step 2 teams, based in the following locations:

  • Basildon & Brentwood
  • Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire
  • Calderdale
  • Derbyshire
  • Kent & Medway
  • Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland
  • Newcastle
  • Nottingham
  • West Essex

We are super proud of the work we do at Step 2 and see the life-changing impact of our practice every single day!

We really do practice what we preach here at Vita, with a company-wide focus on staff wellbeing, a flexible and creative approach to work and a real culture of openness and support. We love to see our colleagues thrive and achieve their personal goals, so we place a real emphasis on quality supervision, rich CPD and encouraging our PWPs to take on leadership roles and training opportunities. We are always thrilled to welcome our Locums as permanent team members too, so the door is always open for you if things change down the line.

Making People Better

As a Locum PWP, you have a vital role in enhancing the support we provide to our clients. By dedicating your clinical expertise and helping us to minimise wait times, you will support clients to access therapy when they need it most.

You will assess the suitability of new referrals through telephone assessments and provide short term, low intensity interventions via telephone, online webinars, and computerised CBT (CCBT). Where needed, you will work closely with colleagues at Steps 3 and 4, and external services, to support safe onward referrals and step ups, at all times maintaining and advocating for patient dignity, confidentiality and inclusivity.

Getting to know You

Each PWP brings their own unique skills, background, and experiences to their practice. Alongside this, we are also looking for:

  • A Graduate/Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert) in Low Intensity Interventions (Adults)
  • BABCP or BPS Registration (or willingness to work towards registration)
  • Experience of working with people who have experienced a mental health problem
  • An awareness of and commitment to supporting and facilitating diversity and inclusion

If this sounds like the right fit for you, we look forward to welcoming you to the team!
