The Role

At the Royal British Legion, we believe in building on potential. As a Remembrance Events Administrator your ability to provide administrative assistance to the team on numerous large-scale commemorative events could have a real impact on people’s lives.

At its heart, RBL is a people organisation. People who want to do the very best for others, while at the same time making the most of the opportunities and experiences we offer them.

We are the country’s largest Armed Forces charity, with 210,000 members, 50,000 volunteers and a network of partners and charities; helping us give support wherever and whenever it’s needed.

As a Remembrance Events Administrator, you will be responsible for providing administrative assistance to the team on numerous large-scale commemorative events, assisting the team with public facing enquiries, accreditation support, and managing administrative aspects of the larger events.

If successful, the main duties of your role will be:

  • To provide an excellent event administrative service for the team; recording event data, preparing letters and other correspondence, and assisting with event planning.
  • Responsible for monitoring and answering the Remembrance Department inboxes, and dealing with public facing enquiries where necessary.
  • Booking team travel, when necessary. Including car hire and train/ferries
  • Assisting the team with event accreditation including date entry and distribution of passes/tickets

Please note that this role can be based at our London office, which is located at Haig House, 199 Borough High Street, London SE1 1AA, or can be Home based. London Weighting will be offered to candidates based at Haig House with an expectation to attend the London office regularly (minimum of 2 days per week). Candidates taking up the role on a remote basis from Home will not be eligible for London Weighting.

Furthermore, during busy times such as Events, candidates will be expected to travel to various locations and offices. All travel costs will be expensed.

It's this mission, this scale, this challenge and the values we all live by, that makes the Legion such a fulfilling place to thrive.

Whether it’s through our Brand, press and television coverage, or integrated digital campaigns, as a member of our Marketing and Remembrance teams, you’d help ensure the unique contribution of the Armed Forces community is never forgotten. While inspiring people to engage with the Legion and make an impact for good.

This team is made up of people with a broad range of skills from an even broader range of sectors. If you were to join, together you’d implement the brand and marketing strategy, and deliver events like the Festival of Remembrance.

So, whatever your talents and expertise, if you want to give your days meaning. To put your passion into a role with real impact. To support people and be supported yourself. In an inclusive team that faces every challenge together. We think you’ll find a role here that works for you.

We want everyone involved in our work or receiving our services, to feel proud to contribute to or be part of a diverse and inclusive organisation.

We recognise that we still have a long way to go to ensure that we make the RBL a truly great and inclusive organisation to work for and be part of so we have set out our commitments to provide a clear path to deliver this ambition. We will keep listening, learning, and sharing our progress and impact.
