About the role and our team
The Department of Education, Sport and Culture is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join the relief list as Education Support Staff to assist and support Teachers/pupils within the Island’s schools.
Your main responsibilities would include:
- Supervising and providing support for pupils, including those with special needs, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities
- Assisting with the development and implementation of Individual Education/Behaviour Plans and Personal Care programmes
- Monitoring pupils’ responses to learning activities and accurately record achievement/progress as directed
- Promoting good pupil behaviour, dealing promptly with incidents in line with established policy and encourage pupils to take responsibility for their own behaviour
- Providing feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement under guidance of the teacher
Please note, there is no obligation for those on the relief list to undertake work or for the Department of Education, Sport and Culture to provide work.

Please note an enhanced with barring police check is required for this post, which the Department will cover the cost of for you. Please note if you have lived for more than 6 months outside of the UK in the last 5 years, you will be required to obtain a Letter of Good Standing from the appropriate authorities in the relevant locations, please read the guidance about how to obtain this letter.
A relocation package and interview expenses are not available for this role.
