Reliability Engineers: Location - Immingham

Prax Lindsey Oil Refinery located in North Lincolnshire is a key asset for Prax and is a world-class supplier of quality fuels. Constructed in 1968, it has the capacity to process up to 5.4 million tonnes of crude oil per year (109,000 barrels a day) and currently employs around 415 staff in additional to a similar complement of contract personnel. The refinery extends over 500 acres and incorporates some of the most advanced refining and conversion processes in Europe, supplying products by road, rail, sea and pipeline.
The Refinery is currently seeking Reliability Engineers to work within our Maintenance Department based at the refinery. The positions ensure that Preventative Maintenance and development of improvement changes to equipment are specified and implemented in accordance with company standards and objectives on HSE, quality, reliability, and cost.
Reporting to the Reliability and Asset Integrity Leader, the successful candidates will develop and deliver the medium and long-term plans to achieve Reliability objectives. There will be regular interaction with all Business units in the refinery and the direct support teams, ensuring that plant reliability is high, in order to maximise operating results, conducting activities in a safe and cost-effective manner.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Actively promotes safety and reliability initiatives by ensuring compliance with Refinery requirements and procedures.
- Support the Reliability and Process Safety Roadmap by being a key actor on SIL / RCA / FMECA / MTBF / Preventative Maintenance plans and define and implement relevant actions.
- Participates/assists in Root Cause Analyses and Accident/Incident report investigations, organise and follow up on agreed corrective actions and preventative activities.
- Implement the long-term strategy for the maintenance of critical equipment. Create and update Preventative work instructions, verify the scheduling of the different Inspection, Testing and Preventive Maintenance tasks required to manage the integrity in the refinery.
- Lead development of reliability and safety focused maintenance plans for equipment at the system level and ensure their effective implementation.
- Review and manage Maintenance store stock spares holding for critical equipment.
- Participates in the MOC Pre-Concept design work scope preparation and implementation to ensure asset lifecycle and long-term process unit reliability.
- Participates in the T&I / Shutdown work scope preparation and implementation to ensure asset lifecycle and long-term process unit reliability.
Technically orientated, with an instinctive focus on safety and plant reliability, you will possess the communication skills and enthusiasm needed to work with others in achieving the objectives.
Applicants should be Mechanical or Instrument/Electrical professionals, ideally Chartered, with a degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline or hold an HND/HNC as a minimum along with technical competence demonstrated through experience. 5+ years’ experience within a large petroleum/petrochemical or similar heavy industrial environment is desirable.
